Narrative:
Climbing through FL325 abeam sby, ZDC asked flight to confirm FL310. We responded with our last assigned, FL350. Center then gave an immediate right turn 30 degrees and assigned FL310. No indication of traffic conflict was noted visually or on TCASII. Returned to FL310 and proceeded uneventfully.
