Narrative:
We departed gyy at approximately XX30 sep/yy/97, vectored to bae with an assigned altitude of 11000 ft. Approximately 10 mins into flight we smelled burning wire and noticed smoke coming through the copilot panel. Center was notified that we had smoke in the cabin and we needed an immediate descent with landing at pwk. We rapidly descended and landed at pwk. Requested fire trucks for possible situation. Aircraft battery disconnected and aircraft taken to maintenance.
