Narrative:
Autoplt failed to level off as programmed at 10000 ft. Aircraft dipped momentarily to 9600 ft, manually leveled at 10000 ft, re-established autoplt. Closer monitoring of automated functions required. Supplemental information from acn 378970: the captain programmed the autoplt to level off at 10000 ft, it failed to do so. We noticed this when the altitude alert tone sounded. The captain returned to 10000 ft and leveled off manually.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A WDB DSNDING TO 10000 FT DSNDED TO 9600 FT ON AUTOPLT AND THEN MANUALLY RETURNED TO 10000 FT IN IAH, TX, AIRSPACE.
Narrative: AUTOPLT FAILED TO LEVEL OFF AS PROGRAMMED AT 10000 FT. ACFT DIPPED MOMENTARILY TO 9600 FT, MANUALLY LEVELED AT 10000 FT, RE-ESTABLISHED AUTOPLT. CLOSER MONITORING OF AUTOMATED FUNCTIONS REQUIRED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 378970: THE CAPT PROGRAMMED THE AUTOPLT TO LEVEL OFF AT 10000 FT, IT FAILED TO DO SO. WE NOTICED THIS WHEN THE ALT ALERT TONE SOUNDED. THE CAPT RETURNED TO 10000 FT AND LEVELED OFF MANUALLY.
