Narrative:

During the gate parking procedure, as we were being marshalled to gate, the jetway was moved and made contact with the top of the #1 engine. Parking on a gate normally used for B757 aircraft caused the jetway to be out of normal ht position. As it was being adjusted for B737-300 ht, it struck the #1 top engine nacelle. Complete retraction of jetways to a designated safe default position after every departure will prevent recurrence. Supplemental information from acn 381607: upon deplaning aircraft, maintenance advised that the jetway was moved and hit the left engine. Left engine had puncture damage on top.
