Narrative:
On oct/wed/97, I was over lancaster airport when I contacted regional approach and requested clearance to circle downtown dallas for photos. I was told to remain at or below 2500 ft, fly direct to downtown and contact love approach on 126.05. I did so and called love approach prior to entering class B airspace, however, I was told to 'wait.' as the flight was at night and it was over a 'sea of lights' it was very difficult to distinguish the class B boundary. I was told I had entered class B and to exit east. I did so immediately. Approach then requested I call him on another frequency (he was operating on 2 approach and 1 tower frequency simultaneously). He then denied me clearance into the class B. I relied too much in being in contact with regional approach by assuming they would advise me of my proximity to the class B and thought they would stay with me until love approved my clearance. I will assume nothing in the future.

Title: PLT OF A BEECH V35, BONANZA, INADVERTENTLY ENTERED CLASS B AIRSPACE AT NIGHT WHEN HE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF REQUESTING PERMISSION TO FLY OVER THE CITY FOR TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS. DUE TO THE BRIGHT CONTRASTING LIGHTS HE COULD NOT VISUALLY DISCERN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE AIRSPACE.
Narrative: ON OCT/WED/97, I WAS OVER LANCASTER ARPT WHEN I CONTACTED REGIONAL APCH AND REQUESTED CLRNC TO CIRCLE DOWNTOWN DALLAS FOR PHOTOS. I WAS TOLD TO REMAIN AT OR BELOW 2500 FT, FLY DIRECT TO DOWNTOWN AND CONTACT LOVE APCH ON 126.05. I DID SO AND CALLED LOVE APCH PRIOR TO ENTERING CLASS B AIRSPACE, HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD TO 'WAIT.' AS THE FLT WAS AT NIGHT AND IT WAS OVER A 'SEA OF LIGHTS' IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO DISTINGUISH THE CLASS B BOUNDARY. I WAS TOLD I HAD ENTERED CLASS B AND TO EXIT E. I DID SO IMMEDIATELY. APCH THEN REQUESTED I CALL HIM ON ANOTHER FREQ (HE WAS OPERATING ON 2 APCH AND 1 TWR FREQ SIMULTANEOUSLY). HE THEN DENIED ME CLRNC INTO THE CLASS B. I RELIED TOO MUCH IN BEING IN CONTACT WITH REGIONAL APCH BY ASSUMING THEY WOULD ADVISE ME OF MY PROX TO THE CLASS B AND THOUGHT THEY WOULD STAY WITH ME UNTIL LOVE APPROVED MY CLRNC. I WILL ASSUME NOTHING IN THE FUTURE.
