Narrative:

On approach to runway 22R at ord ATC kept us at 5000 ft up to 10 mi final. At that point they turned a DC9 in front of us leaving only a 2 mi spread or slightly less according to TCASII. They then gave clearance for approach and maintain 180 KTS to final. This was ridiculous to say the least but, we gave it our best shot. On 2 mi final we went around as we were still too high and too close to the DC9 which was touching down. Executed go around and then a normal approach and landing.
