Narrative:
Climbing to FL220 out of boston, ma, en route to trenton, nj, sometime after passing through FL210 my altimeter stuck. The altitude alerter sounded at approximately FL223 and an altitude of approximately FL224 was obtained before returning to FL220. About the time the altitude alerter sounded my altimeter caught up with the first officer's altimeter and functioned normally. The altimeter was written up and replaced. No other aircraft were visible nor depicted on our TCASII. ATC made no mention to us about the incident.
