Narrative:
Our operations specifications specify that we can depart with 1/4 mi visibility with adequate visual reference. We had that. IFR takeoff runway 5 said we needed 300 ft 1 mi. We departed with 1/2 mi visibility. In retrospect, I believe that charted minimums override operations specifications.
