Narrative:
Location: slc. Page 10-9A at salt lake city shows for runway 34R, the PAPI lights to be located on the right side of the runway. On 10 mi final approach to runway 34R on the evening of oct/xx/97, we saw the PAPI lights on the left side of the runway. We were cleared for approach to runway 34R and positively established that we were on final to the correct runway. The next day on taxi out, we asked ground control if their pubs showed PAPI lights on the left or right side of runway 34R. They said, as of their latest publication update on oct/xx/97, that they showed no PAPI at all for runway 34R. Our chart date was jul/xx/97. There was no NOTAM in our paperwork indicating where the PAPI lights really were. I use VASI/PAPI location to primarily help me confirm that I am lined up on the correct runway. At marginal visibilities, this incorrect information for runway 34R on slc could cause someone to change and land on the wrong runway, or maybe go missed approach further complicating the landing pattern.

Title: FLC OF S80 ON APCH TO SLC FINDS INCORRECT PAPI INFO ON THE CHART. WHEN TRYING TO CLARIFY WITH GND THEY INDICATE THERE IS NO PAPI INDICATED FOR RWY 34R AT ALL.
Narrative: LOCATION: SLC. PAGE 10-9A AT SALT LAKE CITY SHOWS FOR RWY 34R, THE PAPI LIGHTS TO BE LOCATED ON THE R SIDE OF THE RWY. ON 10 MI FINAL APCH TO RWY 34R ON THE EVENING OF OCT/XX/97, WE SAW THE PAPI LIGHTS ON THE L SIDE OF THE RWY. WE WERE CLRED FOR APCH TO RWY 34R AND POSITIVELY ESTABLISHED THAT WE WERE ON FINAL TO THE CORRECT RWY. THE NEXT DAY ON TAXI OUT, WE ASKED GND CTL IF THEIR PUBS SHOWED PAPI LIGHTS ON THE L OR R SIDE OF RWY 34R. THEY SAID, AS OF THEIR LATEST PUB UPDATE ON OCT/XX/97, THAT THEY SHOWED NO PAPI AT ALL FOR RWY 34R. OUR CHART DATE WAS JUL/XX/97. THERE WAS NO NOTAM IN OUR PAPERWORK INDICATING WHERE THE PAPI LIGHTS REALLY WERE. I USE VASI/PAPI LOCATION TO PRIMARILY HELP ME CONFIRM THAT I AM LINED UP ON THE CORRECT RWY. AT MARGINAL VISIBILITIES, THIS INCORRECT INFO FOR RWY 34R ON SLC COULD CAUSE SOMEONE TO CHANGE AND LAND ON THE WRONG RWY, OR MAYBE GO MISSED APCH FURTHER COMPLICATING THE LNDG PATTERN.
