Narrative:
Overhead txk on the dallas 2 departure, PF selected route towards lit instead of J42 to mem. I advised him of the error and he took action to turn towards the course. ATC noticed the deviation and asked for an immediate turn towards the proper course because of conflicting traffic.

Narrative: OVERHEAD TXK ON THE DALLAS 2 DEP, PF SELECTED RTE TOWARDS LIT INSTEAD OF J42 TO MEM. I ADVISED HIM OF THE ERROR AND HE TOOK ACTION TO TURN TOWARDS THE COURSE. ATC NOTICED THE DEV AND ASKED FOR AN IMMEDIATE TURN TOWARDS THE PROPER COURSE BECAUSE OF CONFLICTING TFC.
