Narrative:

Being vectored to ILS runway 18R at mco from right base position at 2500 ft. Received clearance to head 150 degrees to intercept runway 18R ILS and cleared for the approach. Received full deflection and back on CDI. Continued heading 150 degrees, obtained runways visually and requested visual to runway 18L and it was granted. Once on tower frequency, tower asked which approach we were cleared for. Informed tower cleared for runway 18R ILS then a visual to runway 18L. Tower cleared us to land without further comment.

Title: FLC OF A B727 NOTICED AN ERRONEOUS LOC DEFLECTION WHEN THEY VISUALLY THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE ON THE ILS CTRLINE. THEY WERE VISUAL AND CHANGED TO THE OTHER PARALLEL RWY FOR LNDG. TWR ALSO QUESTIONED THEIR APCH. FLC THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY A PARALLEL RWY ENCROACHMENT RATHER THAN THEIR ACFT EQUIP?

INFORMED TWR CLRED FOR RWY 18R ILS THEN A VISUAL TO RWY 18L. TWR CLRED US TO LAND WITHOUT FURTHER COMMENT.
