Narrative:
On taxi out for flight, we received an indication that felt and sounded as though we taxied over a piece of debris. We slowed then stopped to inspect the area and aircraft. The flight attendant was also queried and said he did not see anything or damage. Convinced we had taxied over debris, we called operations to have it found/removed, and proceeded. The flight to destination and return were uneventful. Upon completion of each flight a complete postflt was done (without indication). Upon preflight for next flight, the first officer noticed the left ob static wick missing and subsequently a dent in the aileron horn. Maintenance was called. They indicated that an aircraft had received similar damage that morning in the same taxi area by striking a portable light stand that had not been positioned clear of the taxi area.
