Narrative:

Flight oak-lax. WX was 400 ft overcast 1 1/4 SM visibility, heavy rain. After landing, due to rain and poor visibility, I slowed to a normal taxi speed on the runway. I decided to use the entire length of the runway due to the WX. By 3/4 of the runway I was at normal taxi speed. With several thousand feet remaining, I released the brakes and rolled to the end. As I approached the taxiway at the runway end I applied brakes and started to turn off. I estimate I was going 15 mph. The brakes slowed the aircraft, the nose started to turn off and all of a sudden it felt like I hit a patch of ice. I straightened the nose out and held the brakes. The plane came to rest just as the main tires hit the runway end lights. I feel the cause of this problem had to do with the standing water on the unworn paint of the threshold bars. It was literally as slick as ice. A few runway lights were broken, no damage to the aircraft or injury to any person. In the future, I will treat rainy conditions just like snow or ice.

Narrative: FLT OAK-LAX. WX WAS 400 FT OVCST 1 1/4 SM VISIBILITY, HVY RAIN. AFTER LNDG, DUE TO RAIN AND POOR VISIBILITY, I SLOWED TO A NORMAL TAXI SPD ON THE RWY. I DECIDED TO USE THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE RWY DUE TO THE WX. BY 3/4 OF THE RWY I WAS AT NORMAL TAXI SPD. WITH SEVERAL THOUSAND FEET REMAINING, I RELEASED THE BRAKES AND ROLLED TO THE END. AS I APCHED THE TXWY AT THE RWY END I APPLIED BRAKES AND STARTED TO TURN OFF. I ESTIMATE I WAS GOING 15 MPH. THE BRAKES SLOWED THE ACFT, THE NOSE STARTED TO TURN OFF AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT FELT LIKE I HIT A PATCH OF ICE. I STRAIGHTENED THE NOSE OUT AND HELD THE BRAKES.
