Narrative:
ZID issued us descent clearance from FL390 to FL350. I started descent at 500 FPM. At approximately FL380, ZID wanted us level at FL350 in 2 1/2 mins. I increased descent to 1500 FPM and was vectored around air carrier Y traffic. I leveled at FL350, never saw air carrier Y on the TCASII, and was told to call the center. I did call, center said we took 5 mins to descend to FL350. I complied with all the ZID instructions.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR B767 WAS GIVEN DSCNT TO FL350 FROM FL390 WITHOUT URGENCY. CTLR SUBSEQUENTLY INSTRUCTED FLC TO BE AT FL350 IN TWO AND ONE HALF MINS WHEN THEY WERE AT FL380. FLC ALSO WERE VECTORED AROUND OTHER ACR TFC.
