Narrative:
Had a maintenance placard on the automatic lift dumper system that requires a maintenance check of the manual lift dumpers prior to each departure. We had the check performed on flight jax to dfw. We were 30 mins late arriving at dfw and the gate agent was pushing for a quick turn. We were in at AB08Z and had an actual out time of AB38Z. We considered all the MEL and performance penalties for the lift dumper fault during the course of our departure planning but in our haste for a quick turn, we completely forgot about the required maintenance check. We didn't realize this omission until the following morning when we showed up to take the aircraft back from elp to dfw. Lessons learned: do not let schedule pressures or other outside influences cause you to rush checklists. Take time to review the MEL for affected items prior to every departure. Supplemental information from acn 389790: changeover said my paperwork would be waiting at the gate. It wasn't. As I pulled up the paperwork my first officer did the walkaround. We were scheduled out at XX21 with the same jet. We were interrupted during our preflight checks by our flight attendant saying that the mod had called and was charging them with a crew delay. As we came out this morning for our return trip from elp with the same aircraft and after reviewing the logbook I realized that we had not had the maintenance inspection of the lift dumpers (ground spoilers) performed the night before in dfw. We also had to call maintenance in elp and have them come out and do the inspection even though the aircraft had been there all night. Apparently, no one was aware of the problem. In the future I will close the cockpit door and not allow outside influences interrupt my primary task at hand. If an aircraft has a maintenance inspection due then maintenance should do a better job of having maintenance personnel at the gate to perform the task and not rely solely on the crew to remind them of their responsibility.

Title: FLC RPTS THEIR FAILURE TO HAVE AN MEL PROC PERFORMED ON THEIR F10 ACFT WHILE AT THE GATE IN DFW ON THE WAY TO ELP. THEY REALIZE THEIR ERROR THE NEXT MORNING IN ELP. PIC CITES THIS AS A PROB OF COORD WITH AIRLINE MAINT PERSONNEL.
Narrative: HAD A MAINT PLACARD ON THE AUTOMATIC LIFT DUMPER SYS THAT REQUIRES A MAINT CHK OF THE MANUAL LIFT DUMPERS PRIOR TO EACH DEP. WE HAD THE CHK PERFORMED ON FLT JAX TO DFW. WE WERE 30 MINS LATE ARRIVING AT DFW AND THE GATE AGENT WAS PUSHING FOR A QUICK TURN. WE WERE IN AT AB08Z AND HAD AN ACTUAL OUT TIME OF AB38Z. WE CONSIDERED ALL THE MEL AND PERFORMANCE PENALTIES FOR THE LIFT DUMPER FAULT DURING THE COURSE OF OUR DEP PLANNING BUT IN OUR HASTE FOR A QUICK TURN, WE COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THE REQUIRED MAINT CHK. WE DIDN'T REALIZE THIS OMISSION UNTIL THE FOLLOWING MORNING WHEN WE SHOWED UP TO TAKE THE ACFT BACK FROM ELP TO DFW. LESSONS LEARNED: DO NOT LET SCHEDULE PRESSURES OR OTHER OUTSIDE INFLUENCES CAUSE YOU TO RUSH CHKLISTS. TAKE TIME TO REVIEW THE MEL FOR AFFECTED ITEMS PRIOR TO EVERY DEP. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 389790: CHANGEOVER SAID MY PAPERWORK WOULD BE WAITING AT THE GATE. IT WASN'T. AS I PULLED UP THE PAPERWORK MY FO DID THE WALKAROUND. WE WERE SCHEDULED OUT AT XX21 WITH THE SAME JET. WE WERE INTERRUPTED DURING OUR PREFLT CHKS BY OUR FLT ATTENDANT SAYING THAT THE MOD HAD CALLED AND WAS CHARGING THEM WITH A CREW DELAY. AS WE CAME OUT THIS MORNING FOR OUR RETURN TRIP FROM ELP WITH THE SAME ACFT AND AFTER REVIEWING THE LOGBOOK I REALIZED THAT WE HAD NOT HAD THE MAINT INSPECTION OF THE LIFT DUMPERS (GND SPOILERS) PERFORMED THE NIGHT BEFORE IN DFW. WE ALSO HAD TO CALL MAINT IN ELP AND HAVE THEM COME OUT AND DO THE INSPECTION EVEN THOUGH THE ACFT HAD BEEN THERE ALL NIGHT. APPARENTLY, NO ONE WAS AWARE OF THE PROB. IN THE FUTURE I WILL CLOSE THE COCKPIT DOOR AND NOT ALLOW OUTSIDE INFLUENCES INTERRUPT MY PRIMARY TASK AT HAND. IF AN ACFT HAS A MAINT INSPECTION DUE THEN MAINT SHOULD DO A BETTER JOB OF HAVING MAINT PERSONNEL AT THE GATE TO PERFORM THE TASK AND NOT RELY SOLELY ON THE CREW TO REMIND THEM OF THEIR RESPONSIBILITY.
