Narrative:
Captain notified me (first officer) that he was starting the APU which was meled inoperative. Against better judgement, I did not dispute him. Subsequently burned some circuitry in the APU starter system and company has taken disciplinary action.

Title: CAPT OF AN MDT TURBOPROP BURNED THE APU STARTER CIRCUITRY WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO START THE APU WHICH WAS ALREADY MELED. THE RPTING FO FAILED TO REMIND THE CAPT OF THE APU STATUS. THE COMPANY TOOK DISCIPLINARY ACTION AGAINST THE FLC.
Narrative: CAPT NOTIFIED ME (FO) THAT HE WAS STARTING THE APU WHICH WAS MELED INOP. AGAINST BETTER JUDGEMENT, I DID NOT DISPUTE HIM. SUBSEQUENTLY BURNED SOME CIRCUITRY IN THE APU STARTER SYS AND COMPANY HAS TAKEN DISCIPLINARY ACTION.
