Narrative:
We received a taxi clearance to runway 15R from bwi ground control. We were being marshaled out of the ramp area between gate xx and xy and given the all clear signal that our left wing had cleared aircraft air carrier Y and then waved out of the ramp area by the marshaller. He turned around and looked away from us towards aircraft air carrier Y. My first officer gave me a clear right response. I looked to my right to clear the area. We then proceeded to make a right turn to taxiway a to runway 15R. When we felt a bump, I stopped the aircraft, set the parking brake, looked to my left for the marshaller. He turned around when he heard the noise and then gave us the emergency stop signal. We shut down engines normally per the checklist and deplaned the passenger out the forward air stair door. Supplemental information from acn 390416: our crew had just arrived at our aircraft (aircraft #1) and was beginning to do the preflight. About then, we felt our aircraft move. Then while sitting in the first officer's seat, I looked up and saw the other aircraft (aircraft #2). Upon further inspection of the aircraft, we saw that the left wing of their aircraft had collided with the right wing of ours. I believed what caused the problem was that the aircraft were parked too close together.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF A BRITISH JETSTREAM 41 (BA41) STRUCK ITS R WINGTIP ON THE L WINGTIP OF ANOTHER COMPANY BA41 DURING TAXI OUT FROM GATE CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO BOTH WINGTIPS. THE GND MARSHAL LOOKED AWAY JUST PRIOR TO THE COLLISION.
Narrative: WE RECEIVED A TAXI CLRNC TO RWY 15R FROM BWI GND CTL. WE WERE BEING MARSHALED OUT OF THE RAMP AREA BTWN GATE XX AND XY AND GIVEN THE ALL CLR SIGNAL THAT OUR L WING HAD CLRED ACFT ACR Y AND THEN WAVED OUT OF THE RAMP AREA BY THE MARSHALLER. HE TURNED AROUND AND LOOKED AWAY FROM US TOWARDS ACFT ACR Y. MY FO GAVE ME A CLR R RESPONSE. I LOOKED TO MY R TO CLR THE AREA. WE THEN PROCEEDED TO MAKE A R TURN TO TXWY A TO RWY 15R. WHEN WE FELT A BUMP, I STOPPED THE ACFT, SET THE PARKING BRAKE, LOOKED TO MY L FOR THE MARSHALLER. HE TURNED AROUND WHEN HE HEARD THE NOISE AND THEN GAVE US THE EMER STOP SIGNAL. WE SHUT DOWN ENGS NORMALLY PER THE CHKLIST AND DEPLANED THE PAX OUT THE FORWARD AIR STAIR DOOR. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 390416: OUR CREW HAD JUST ARRIVED AT OUR ACFT (ACFT #1) AND WAS BEGINNING TO DO THE PREFLT. ABOUT THEN, WE FELT OUR ACFT MOVE. THEN WHILE SITTING IN THE FO'S SEAT, I LOOKED UP AND SAW THE OTHER ACFT (ACFT #2). UPON FURTHER INSPECTION OF THE ACFT, WE SAW THAT THE L WING OF THEIR ACFT HAD COLLIDED WITH THE R WING OF OURS. I BELIEVED WHAT CAUSED THE PROB WAS THAT THE ACFT WERE PARKED TOO CLOSE TOGETHER.
