Narrative:

On application of takeoff power, #2 engine spooled up quicker than #1 engine, causing aircraft to start skidding left. Unable to control slide with either nosewheel steering or brakes due to icy runway. Control regained with differential reverser, brought aircraft back to center of runway. Taxied off runway at next intersection and subsequent takeoff made uneventfully with slower power application. Runway was plowed only in center.

Title: CAPT OF A B737-300 LOST CTL OF ACFT DURING TKOF ROLL. ONE ENG'S PWR CAME IN EARLIER THAN THE OTHER. ACFT VEERED OFF CTRLINE OF RWY DUE TO THE DIFFERENTIAL PWR AND ICY RWY THAT RENDERED THE NOSEWHEEL STEERING INEFFECTIVE. TKOF WAS ABORTED, AND CTL REGAINED BY THE APPLICATION OF REVERSE THRUST.

Narrative: ON APPLICATION OF TKOF PWR, #2 ENG SPOOLED UP QUICKER THAN #1 ENG, CAUSING ACFT TO START SKIDDING L. UNABLE TO CTL SLIDE WITH EITHER NOSEWHEEL STEERING OR BRAKES DUE TO ICY RWY. CTL REGAINED WITH DIFFERENTIAL REVERSER, BROUGHT ACFT BACK TO CTR OF RWY. TAXIED OFF RWY AT NEXT INTXN AND SUBSEQUENT TKOF MADE UNEVENTFULLY WITH SLOWER PWR APPLICATION. RWY WAS PLOWED ONLY IN CTR.
