Narrative:
We were being radar vectored to land at ind. In the process, we were cleared to descend from 8000 ft to 6000 ft MSL. During descent, I, for some reason, had 5000 ft in mind. We descended to 5600 ft when the so called out 6000 ft. Immediately, I initiated a climb to get back to 6000 ft. At that moment, ATC cleared us to descend to 5000 ft. The remainder of the flight was normal, and uneventful. This was our second leg of the evening. We were tired, and this was the last night of flying after working 3 straight weeks. Supplemental information from acn 392510: while on approach into ind, air carrier B727 was cleared down to 6000 ft. Passing through 7000 ft I said passing 7000 ft for 6000 ft. Captain flying said roger. Passing 5800 ft first officer called altitude. Captain flying said roger, with no corrective action taken. At 5500 ft first officer said you need to be at 6000 ft. Once corrective action was taken the ZID controller cleared us down to 5000 ft. The rest of the approach was smooth with no incidents.
