Narrative:
Cleared ILS runway 12R at hou. Visual flight conditions within 5 mi, with light rain on final. Aircraft landed on centerline. After nosewheel touchdown aircraft moved laterally to the left. Captain countered with nosewheel steering and brakes, coming to a stop 3/4 of way down runway left of centerline. Inspection revealed two right and one left main tires deflated with the remaining deflating some time later. All passenger were disembarked and transported to terminal. Aircraft was then turned over to maintenance personnel. Supplemental information from acn 393714: I released air carrier X from msy-hou with anti-skid inoperative. I inadvertently released flight using a dry runway landing at hou instead of wet runway. When flight landed, aircraft blew 4 main tires which closed runway 12R for quite a length of time. Passenger bussed to terminal and tires changed and towed to terminal/hangar. No passenger hurt.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: DURING AN OVERSIGHT, A DISPATCHER RELEASES A B737-300 WITH AN INOP ANTI-SKID TO A WET RWY CONDITION. THE CREW, DURING AN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT A SWERVE DURING TOUCHDOWN, BLOWS SOME TIRES WHILE APPLYING BRAKES. RWY CLOSED FOR A TIME.
Narrative: CLRED ILS RWY 12R AT HOU. VISUAL FLT CONDITIONS WITHIN 5 MI, WITH LIGHT RAIN ON FINAL. ACFT LANDED ON CTRLINE. AFTER NOSEWHEEL TOUCHDOWN ACFT MOVED LATERALLY TO THE L. CAPT COUNTERED WITH NOSEWHEEL STEERING AND BRAKES, COMING TO A STOP 3/4 OF WAY DOWN RWY L OF CTRLINE. INSPECTION REVEALED TWO R AND ONE L MAIN TIRES DEFLATED WITH THE REMAINING DEFLATING SOME TIME LATER. ALL PAX WERE DISEMBARKED AND TRANSPORTED TO TERMINAL. ACFT WAS THEN TURNED OVER TO MAINT PERSONNEL. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 393714: I RELEASED ACR X FROM MSY-HOU WITH ANTI-SKID INOP. I INADVERTENTLY RELEASED FLT USING A DRY RWY LNDG AT HOU INSTEAD OF WET RWY. WHEN FLT LANDED, ACFT BLEW 4 MAIN TIRES WHICH CLOSED RWY 12R FOR QUITE A LENGTH OF TIME. PAX BUSSED TO TERMINAL AND TIRES CHANGED AND TOWED TO TERMINAL/HANGAR. NO PAX HURT.
