Narrative:

Atlanta approach control forgot to switch us to the final controller. When the frequency change was finally made and we checked on, the final controller severely rebuked us for checking on, then leaving his frequency. He was sarcastic and condescending. I am disturbed that more and more ATC controllers believe part of their job is to read pilots the riot act if the controller thinks an error was made. This behavior is inappropriate, unprofessional, and is a distraction which adversely affects safety.
