Narrative:
Noticed imbalance between left and right inner fuel tanks of 1000 pounds. Reviewed all procedures, called first officer back from rest seat and crew decided to divert to bos. After landing bos, aircraft behind on taxiway reported to logan tower that we had fuel pouring out of our #2 engine. Shut off fuel lever, pulled fire handle, and discharged agent. Crash fire rescue equipment equipment responded in 4 mins. Maintenance and crash fire rescue equipment crew towed aircraft to gate. Maintenance found faulty o-ring at fuel pump mount. Aircraft removed from service. Fuel upon arrival bos was 15800 pounds. This abnormal was handled well by 3 man augmented crew. Suggest 3 man crew staffing be maintained on all north atlantic xings.
