Narrative:
I was eating my crew meal. First officer was flying from ord to dtw. I don't know how he missed the turn, maybe we were talking. We were previously on a radar vector. I happened to look down and see the DME at 8 mi and increasing. Directed he start turning to course which he promptly did at a 15 degree bank. Within seconds the controller came up with a vector to on course. We increased bank to 30 degrees to get back to course. Maximum off course was 15 degrees at 9 mi from VOR.
