Narrative:
While flying UKW3 approach, ZFW gave a heading to intercept dfw 304 degree radial and descend to cross bambe at 11000 ft. As PF, missed crossing altitude because I thought I was still reading DME off of ukw. Asked center for altitude relief and there was a frequency change and some confusion as to whether relief was granted. The approach controller said there was not a problem. Supplemental information from acn 397941: while flying UKW3 approach, ZFW gave a heading to intercept dfw 304 degree radial and descend to cross bambe at 11000 ft. As PNF I was giving a PA and PF missed crossing altitude because he thought he was still reading DME off of ukw. Asked center for altitude relief and there was a frequency change and some confusion as to whether relief was granted. The approach controller said there was not a problem.

Title: AN ACR MD80 FLC GOT OFF COURSE WHEN THEY NAVED OFF OF THE WRONG VOR.
Narrative: WHILE FLYING UKW3 APCH, ZFW GAVE A HEADING TO INTERCEPT DFW 304 DEG RADIAL AND DSND TO CROSS BAMBE AT 11000 FT. AS PF, MISSED XING ALT BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS STILL READING DME OFF OF UKW. ASKED CTR FOR ALT RELIEF AND THERE WAS A FREQ CHANGE AND SOME CONFUSION AS TO WHETHER RELIEF WAS GRANTED. THE APCH CTLR SAID THERE WAS NOT A PROB. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 397941: WHILE FLYING UKW3 APCH, ZFW GAVE A HEADING TO INTERCEPT DFW 304 DEG RADIAL AND DSND TO CROSS BAMBE AT 11000 FT. AS PNF I WAS GIVING A PA AND PF MISSED XING ALT BECAUSE HE THOUGHT HE WAS STILL READING DME OFF OF UKW. ASKED CTR FOR ALT RELIEF AND THERE WAS A FREQ CHANGE AND SOME CONFUSION AS TO WHETHER RELIEF WAS GRANTED. THE APCH CTLR SAID THERE WAS NOT A PROB.
