Narrative:
I inadvertently landed on runway 26L instead of runway 26R at chino airport. Runway 26L is much longer and when I turned base to final I just thought I was on the correct runway. By the time I realized my mistake it would have been more dangerous to try and change runways than to land. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that he cannot explain his wrong runway landing. The controller notified him of being lined up with the wrong runway when he was so low he felt it less dangerous to land than to change runways. Controller said 'that's ok, no problem.' there was no other traffic at the time.

Narrative: I INADVERTENTLY LANDED ON RWY 26L INSTEAD OF RWY 26R AT CHINO ARPT. RWY 26L IS MUCH LONGER AND WHEN I TURNED BASE TO FINAL I JUST THOUGHT I WAS ON THE CORRECT RWY. BY THE TIME I REALIZED MY MISTAKE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE DANGEROUS TO TRY AND CHANGE RWYS THAN TO LAND. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT HE CANNOT EXPLAIN HIS WRONG RWY LNDG. THE CTLR NOTIFIED HIM OF BEING LINED UP WITH THE WRONG RWY WHEN HE WAS SO LOW HE FELT IT LESS DANGEROUS TO LAND THAN TO CHANGE RWYS. CTLR SAID 'THAT'S OK, NO PROB.' THERE WAS NO OTHER TFC AT THE TIME.
