While cruising at FL290, center momentarily showed our altitude at FL277. There was no turbulence and the autoplt was engaged. We never deviated from FL290.

Title: CTR RADAR MOMENTARILY PROVIDED ERRONEOUS ALT READOUT FOR AN ACR ACFT IN CRUISE IN ZHU AIRSPACE.
Narrative: WHILE CRUISING AT FL290, CTR MOMENTARILY SHOWED OUR ALT AT FL277. THERE WAS NO TURB AND THE AUTOPLT WAS ENGAGED. WE NEVER DEVIATED FROM FL290.
