Narrative:
In sum: C177 pilot, not instrument rated, on a VFR flight plan, flew into marginal, to IMC conditions on a flight from btv to bgm. Controllers assisted the pilot in getting over WX and helped him safely land at his destination. The controller then gave the pilot a telephone number to call for debriefing and follow-up with the FAA.

Narrative: IN SUM: C177 PLT, NOT INST RATED, ON A VFR FLT PLAN, FLEW INTO MARGINAL, TO IMC CONDITIONS ON A FLT FROM BTV TO BGM. CTLRS ASSISTED THE PLT IN GETTING OVER WX AND HELPED HIM SAFELY LAND AT HIS DEST. THE CTLR THEN GAVE THE PLT A TELEPHONE NUMBER TO CALL FOR DEBRIEFING AND FOLLOW-UP WITH THE FAA.
