Narrative:
Per flight manual part 1, a copy of armed passenger form was required but not furnished to captain by agent boarding flight. Flight attendant advised me once we reached cruise altitude that we had 2 armed passenger on board. Flight attendant became aware of the 2 armed passenger when she reviewed the meal list and noticed law enforcement officer on 2 of the names. I had first officer contact flight dispatch to inform them that we had not received our copy of armed passenger forms and the agent in dfw had not informed us that we had 2 armed individuals aboard the aircraft. Flight dispatch advised us via ACARS that he was able to confirm credentials for both armed individuals. Dispatcher also informed us he planned to file a company report on the event as well as safety debrief it. Flight attendant furnished me with white copies of armed passenger form, which we requested and received from the 2 armed individuals. These 2 officers were indeed the individuals confirmed by flight dispatch. My thanks to the flight attendant for catching the law enforcement note on the meal list and for discreetly informing each armed individual of the other and his location. The dfw agent rushed boarding and neglected to inform the crew of the armed passenger.
