Narrative:
Company radio, dfw. After pulling up flight number to lax I noted MEL XXX. Upon arrival to the gate we boarded aircraft and both copilot and I referenced to and compiled with the MEL XXX. After completion of powerback from the gate, we were unable to reset both master caution lights. We then notified our maintenance and explained the occurrence. The maintenance personnel on the radio said to hold on while he gets technician on the line. The technician person indicated to me that we would get a master caution due to the illuminated inlet fuel pressure low light placarded. So I challenged technician that we would not have system protection should a malfunction occur. He indicated that we have been trying to get this changed and written in the MEL.
