Narrative:
While operating as captain (PIC) of air carrier flight on a B727, aircraft departing jfk for mco. Accepted vectors and lower altitude landing runway 36R mco. Numerous aircraft operating vicinity of airport, one of which created conflict and resolution alert to descend. Circumstances suggest that ATC controller was attempting to cross arriving/landing traffic for runways 36R and 35 mco. Aircraft intending to land runway 35 was west of field on downwind and air carrier aircraft on base leg for runway 36R. Initially I was given 270 degree vector and descent clearance to 3000 ft to establish base leg of approach. Next followed intercept vector and clearance to descend to 1600 ft. Lower clearance was received at position when aircraft was already below GS altitude/DME and as PIC in the interest of noise and safety, began slow rate of descent slightly below GS when TCASII alert caused distraction from localizer intercept followed almost immediately by resolution alert to descend. ATC never advised of traffic and I can only ascertain from radio communications the cause of conflict.

Title: FLC OF B727 HAS TCASII TA THEN RA WHEN DSNDING ON BASE LEG, VECTORS FOR APCH TO RWY 36L. A SECOND ACFT IS BEING VECTORED TO CROSS THEIR APCH PATH FOR AN ALMOST PARALLEL RWY 35 ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RWY 36 COMPLEX.
Narrative: WHILE OPERATING AS CAPT (PIC) OF ACR FLT ON A B727, ACFT DEPARTING JFK FOR MCO. ACCEPTED VECTORS AND LOWER ALT LNDG RWY 36R MCO. NUMEROUS ACFT OPERATING VICINITY OF ARPT, ONE OF WHICH CREATED CONFLICT AND RESOLUTION ALERT TO DSND. CIRCUMSTANCES SUGGEST THAT ATC CTLR WAS ATTEMPTING TO CROSS ARRIVING/LNDG TFC FOR RWYS 36R AND 35 MCO. ACFT INTENDING TO LAND RWY 35 WAS W OF FIELD ON DOWNWIND AND ACR ACFT ON BASE LEG FOR RWY 36R. INITIALLY I WAS GIVEN 270 DEG VECTOR AND DSCNT CLRNC TO 3000 FT TO ESTABLISH BASE LEG OF APCH. NEXT FOLLOWED INTERCEPT VECTOR AND CLRNC TO DSND TO 1600 FT.
