Narrative:
On descent into bna we were advised by our company that we would have an unscheduled aircraft change in bna. When we arrived at our new aircraft, the captain I was trading aircraft with advised me that the autoplt was inoperative. He also told me that a passenger had observed fluid coming from the right wing. He said he had called contract maintenance to inspect the wing. The other captain then went down to the ramp. A few mins later he returned to the cockpit. He said the maintenance person was still out on the wing unfastening a panel. The captain then wrote a discrepancy in the aircraft logbook describing what the passenger had seen, then departed to the aircraft that we had left at another gate. Approximately 10 mins later, the mechanic came to the cockpit and informed me that there was fuel in a dry bay area on the right wing. I called our company maintenance control office and had the mechanic explain what he had found. After he had finished, our maintenance office informed me that the aircraft was OTS. I do not recall if I had signed the flight release. I then announced to our passenger that we were taking the aircraft OTS and to collect their belongings and deplane to the gate area.

Title: A B737-300 WITH PAX RPT OF R WING FUEL LEAK WAS INSPECTED BY A LCL MECH AND REMOVED FROM SVC AFTER DISCOVERING A DRY BAY LEAK.
Narrative: ON DSCNT INTO BNA WE WERE ADVISED BY OUR COMPANY THAT WE WOULD HAVE AN UNSCHEDULED ACFT CHANGE IN BNA. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT OUR NEW ACFT, THE CAPT I WAS TRADING ACFT WITH ADVISED ME THAT THE AUTOPLT WAS INOP. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT A PAX HAD OBSERVED FLUID COMING FROM THE R WING. HE SAID HE HAD CALLED CONTRACT MAINT TO INSPECT THE WING. THE OTHER CAPT THEN WENT DOWN TO THE RAMP. A FEW MINS LATER HE RETURNED TO THE COCKPIT. HE SAID THE MAINT PERSON WAS STILL OUT ON THE WING UNFASTENING A PANEL.
