Narrative:
We were approaching ord, but it felt like we were in a holding pattern. Flight attendant #1 and I heard alarms in the cabin and flight attendant #1 decided to go to the cockpit to see what was going on. At that time the captain told her that we had lost main hydraulics and we would be landing in 10 mins. He told her that we would most likely not have to evacuate/evacuation. Flight attendant #1 told this to me and the captain informed the passenger of the situation and that we would be making an emergency landing. We followed our checklist to prepare the cabin (we made it through the brace demonstration and I reseated a non-revenue flight attendant at the window exit). We landed without incident. We were all very calm and it was helpful that the captain stressed that we would probably not have to evacuate/evacuation.

Title: ON APCH, ONBOARD F100, FLC DECLARED EMER DUE TO SYS HYD FAILURE. ACFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
Narrative: WE WERE APCHING ORD, BUT IT FELT LIKE WE WERE IN A HOLDING PATTERN. FLT ATTENDANT #1 AND I HEARD ALARMS IN THE CABIN AND FLT ATTENDANT #1 DECIDED TO GO TO THE COCKPIT TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. AT THAT TIME THE CAPT TOLD HER THAT WE HAD LOST MAIN HYDS AND WE WOULD BE LNDG IN 10 MINS. HE TOLD HER THAT WE WOULD MOST LIKELY NOT HAVE TO EVAC. FLT ATTENDANT #1 TOLD THIS TO ME AND THE CAPT INFORMED THE PAX OF THE SIT AND THAT WE WOULD BE MAKING AN EMER LNDG. WE FOLLOWED OUR CHKLIST TO PREPARE THE CABIN (WE MADE IT THROUGH THE BRACE DEMONSTRATION AND I RESEATED A NON-REVENUE FLT ATTENDANT AT THE WINDOW EXIT). WE LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. WE WERE ALL VERY CALM AND IT WAS HELPFUL THAT THE CAPT STRESSED THAT WE WOULD PROBABLY NOT HAVE TO EVAC.
