Narrative:

Upon thrust application for takeoff, we immediately received an electrical message. Closing the throttles and rolling to the next turnoff, we cleared the runway and assessed the problem -- one message had cleared itself and the other cleared in consultation with the checklist. The crew felt the messages were spurious or just momentary indication problems, and elected to attempt another takeoff as there were no mechanical irregularities. Again, the messages appeared at thrust application, at which time we returned to the gate to make a maintenance write-up and call dispatch and maintenance. The #1 generator was ultimately deferred.

Title: REGIONAL JET ABORTS 2 TKOFS AT IAH DUE TO GENERATOR PROB.

Narrative: UPON THRUST APPLICATION FOR TKOF, WE IMMEDIATELY RECEIVED AN ELECTRICAL MESSAGE. CLOSING THE THROTTLES AND ROLLING TO THE NEXT TURNOFF, WE CLRED THE RWY AND ASSESSED THE PROB -- ONE MESSAGE HAD CLRED ITSELF AND THE OTHER CLRED IN CONSULTATION WITH THE CHKLIST. THE CREW FELT THE MESSAGES WERE SPURIOUS OR JUST MOMENTARY INDICATION PROBS, AND ELECTED TO ATTEMPT ANOTHER TKOF AS THERE WERE NO MECHANICAL IRREGULARITIES. AGAIN, THE MESSAGES APPEARED AT THRUST APPLICATION, AT WHICH TIME WE RETURNED TO THE GATE TO MAKE A MAINT WRITE-UP AND CALL DISPATCH AND MAINT. THE #1 GENERATOR WAS ULTIMATELY DEFERRED.
