Narrative:
I inadvertently oversvced the #2 integrated drive generator -- while pressure-filling, no oil overflowed. Shortly thereafter, I went into scheduled computer training. It was my intention to investigate why oil did not overflow. I just plain forgot. Plane had to return to the blocks. About 1 1/2 hours of delay. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated when filling the integrated drive generator a dark bottle was used to monitor the overflow and it appeared to have at least a quart from the overflow port. The reporter said he had svced these integrated drive generator units numerous times and never experienced any trouble in servicing or replacement. The reporter stated the dark plastic bottle being used, combined with nighttime conditions, were contributing factors.

Title: A B757-200 RETURNED TO THE GATE DUE TO #2 INTEGRATED DRIVE GENERATOR HIGH OIL TEMP CAUSED BY OVERSVCING.
Narrative: I INADVERTENTLY OVERSVCED THE #2 INTEGRATED DRIVE GENERATOR -- WHILE PRESSURE-FILLING, NO OIL OVERFLOWED. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, I WENT INTO SCHEDULED COMPUTER TRAINING. IT WAS MY INTENTION TO INVESTIGATE WHY OIL DID NOT OVERFLOW. I JUST PLAIN FORGOT. PLANE HAD TO RETURN TO THE BLOCKS. ABOUT 1 1/2 HRS OF DELAY. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED WHEN FILLING THE INTEGRATED DRIVE GENERATOR A DARK BOTTLE WAS USED TO MONITOR THE OVERFLOW AND IT APPEARED TO HAVE AT LEAST A QUART FROM THE OVERFLOW PORT. THE RPTR SAID HE HAD SVCED THESE INTEGRATED DRIVE GENERATOR UNITS NUMEROUS TIMES AND NEVER EXPERIENCED ANY TROUBLE IN SVCING OR REPLACEMENT. THE RPTR STATED THE DARK PLASTIC BOTTLE BEING USED, COMBINED WITH NIGHTTIME CONDITIONS, WERE CONTRIBUTING FACTORS.
