Narrative:

ATC had issued a crossing restr of 7000 ft at flipp intersection. While performing descent checks, making PA announcements, and discussing options for deviating around thunderstorms in the area, the crossing at flipp was missed. Upon realizing this, the captain immediately began a descent to 7000 ft. I believe my preoccupation with PNF duties and the presence of thunderstorms distracted me from reminding the captain to commence the descent. Supplemental information from acn 407600: center called when we were about 1 mi from flipp and asked if we were going to make flipp at 7000 ft. We started down immediately and were at 7000 ft, 2 mi west of flipp.

Title: CAPT OF A SAAB 340B, SF34L, UNDERSHOT XING ALT DURING ARR DSCNT, RESULTING IN ARTCC RADAR CTLR INTERVENTION TO REMIND HIM OF THE FIX 1 MI AHEAD.

Narrative: ATC HAD ISSUED A XING RESTR OF 7000 FT AT FLIPP INTXN. WHILE PERFORMING DSCNT CHKS, MAKING PA ANNOUNCEMENTS, AND DISCUSSING OPTIONS FOR DEVIATING AROUND TSTMS IN THE AREA, THE XING AT FLIPP WAS MISSED. UPON REALIZING THIS, THE CAPT IMMEDIATELY BEGAN A DSCNT TO 7000 FT. I BELIEVE MY PREOCCUPATION WITH PNF DUTIES AND THE PRESENCE OF TSTMS DISTRACTED ME FROM REMINDING THE CAPT TO COMMENCE THE DSCNT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 407600: CTR CALLED WHEN WE WERE ABOUT 1 MI FROM FLIPP AND ASKED IF WE WERE GOING TO MAKE FLIPP AT 7000 FT. WE STARTED DOWN IMMEDIATELY AND WERE AT 7000 FT, 2 MI W OF FLIPP.
