Narrative:
PIC blocks off cargo ramp at mia. ATC instructs PIC to taxi to intersection 'zulu' and to hold short of runway 30 at 'zulu' intersection (see airport diagram enclosed). PIC taxies to and holds short of runway 30 at 'zulu' intersection. PIC thought he was instructed to cross runway 30 at 'zulu' intersection. PIC began crossing runway 30 at 'zulu' intersection. PIC observed an MD11 rolling out on runway 30. PIC immediately applied brakes and reverse thrust (simultaneously). Note: the aircraft did cross the hold short line of runway 30 at 'zulu' intersection. Observations: PIC failed to verify ATC instructions. PIC failed to visually inspect the runway before crossing.

PIC TAXIES TO AND HOLDS SHORT OF RWY 30 AT 'ZULU' INTXN. PIC THOUGHT HE WAS INSTRUCTED TO CROSS RWY 30 AT 'ZULU' INTXN. PIC BEGAN XING RWY 30 AT 'ZULU' INTXN. PIC OBSERVED AN MD11 ROLLING OUT ON RWY 30. PIC IMMEDIATELY APPLIED BRAKES AND REVERSE THRUST (SIMULTANEOUSLY). NOTE: THE ACFT DID CROSS THE HOLD SHORT LINE OF RWY 30 AT 'ZULU' INTXN. OBSERVATIONS: PIC FAILED TO VERIFY ATC INSTRUCTIONS. PIC FAILED TO VISUALLY INSPECT THE RWY BEFORE XING.
