Narrative:
After landing at mci, cockpit notified that air conditioning ground service door was open. The captain then proceeded to close the aircraft door, stated that the door seemed to be ok. Company maintenance was notified of situation. They then contacted contract maintenance to come look at aircraft door and ensure it was working. While this was going on, unknown to flight deck, a ramp supervisor placed speed tape over door as an added safety measure. Ramp then notified us that the door had been taped. We passed this fact on to company maintenance, and maintenance stated that as the door seemed to be working fine, and that this was not a safety of flight matter, it was fine to proceed to next stop. Contract maintenance was contacted at next stop, and write-up in logbook made. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the aircraft was a B737-300 and the ground service door appeared ok. The reporter said no logbook entry was made at mci.
