Narrative:
ATC facility: sjc tower. Location: runway 30L. We were cleared for takeoff on runway 30L and a C172 was doing touch and goes on runway 30R at sjc. Watching the C172 as we gained speed to rotate and then again after rotation we came within 500 ft and possibly within 300 ft horizontal and within 0-300 ft vertical as we climbed out. The C172 approximately abeam our right wing, then turned right as we climbed through his altitude. We called the tower after climb out to ask what the separation of the runways was and the answer was 700 ft. This does not include wing span distance which was approximately less than 630 ft to start the takeoff roll. The C172 drifted left of centerline into our flight path and within approximately 300 ft. Sjc tower was informed that a NASA report would be filed on the incident. Ftw dispatch was notified via ACARS and lga chief pilot on duty was called once we landed. Sjc tower supervisor was given the information via telephone after we landed. No evasive action was needed to avoid this C172.

Title: FLC OF B757 ON TKOF AT SJC HAS NMAC WITH C172 ON TKOF PARALLEL RWY.
Narrative: ATC FACILITY: SJC TWR. LOCATION: RWY 30L. WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 30L AND A C172 WAS DOING TOUCH AND GOES ON RWY 30R AT SJC. WATCHING THE C172 AS WE GAINED SPD TO ROTATE AND THEN AGAIN AFTER ROTATION WE CAME WITHIN 500 FT AND POSSIBLY WITHIN 300 FT HORIZ AND WITHIN 0-300 FT VERT AS WE CLBED OUT. THE C172 APPROX ABEAM OUR R WING, THEN TURNED R AS WE CLBED THROUGH HIS ALT. WE CALLED THE TWR AFTER CLBOUT TO ASK WHAT THE SEPARATION OF THE RWYS WAS AND THE ANSWER WAS 700 FT. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE WING SPAN DISTANCE WHICH WAS APPROX LESS THAN 630 FT TO START THE TKOF ROLL. THE C172 DRIFTED L OF CTRLINE INTO OUR FLT PATH AND WITHIN APPROX 300 FT. SJC TWR WAS INFORMED THAT A NASA RPT WOULD BE FILED ON THE INCIDENT. FTW DISPATCH WAS NOTIFIED VIA ACARS AND LGA CHIEF PLT ON DUTY WAS CALLED ONCE WE LANDED. SJC TWR SUPVR WAS GIVEN THE INFO VIA TELEPHONE AFTER WE LANDED. NO EVASIVE ACTION WAS NEEDED TO AVOID THIS C172.
