Narrative:
While being vectored for approach into toledo, airport writer and crew were looking for traffic that was told to us to be approaching tol airport from the north. We were approaching from the south. Tol approach control said we were #1 for the airport. At this time we were about to turn base to final about 2 mi out, writer then noticed what appeared to be a truck on runway 25 (northeast 2725 ft of runway 25 is being worked on and that section is obviously closed). But as it turned out, the truck was in the closed portion of the runway. During all this time, approach did not tell us to switch to tower. It was not until after landing did I look up to see my taxi light 'off.' (I normally turn it on when given landing clearance.) I found myself too distraction looking for traffic in the air and on the runway that I forgot to query ATC for a frequency change. Must try to be more vigilant.

Title: FLC ON TRI-JET MAKING VISUAL APCH TO TOL ARPT LANDED WHILE STILL ON APCH FREQ.
Narrative: WHILE BEING VECTORED FOR APCH INTO TOLEDO, ARPT WRITER AND CREW WERE LOOKING FOR TFC THAT WAS TOLD TO US TO BE APCHING TOL ARPT FROM THE N. WE WERE APCHING FROM THE S. TOL APCH CTL SAID WE WERE #1 FOR THE ARPT. AT THIS TIME WE WERE ABOUT TO TURN BASE TO FINAL ABOUT 2 MI OUT, WRITER THEN NOTICED WHAT APPEARED TO BE A TRUCK ON RWY 25 (NE 2725 FT OF RWY 25 IS BEING WORKED ON AND THAT SECTION IS OBVIOUSLY CLOSED). BUT AS IT TURNED OUT, THE TRUCK WAS IN THE CLOSED PORTION OF THE RWY. DURING ALL THIS TIME, APCH DID NOT TELL US TO SWITCH TO TWR. IT WAS NOT UNTIL AFTER LNDG DID I LOOK UP TO SEE MY TAXI LIGHT 'OFF.' (I NORMALLY TURN IT ON WHEN GIVEN LNDG CLRNC.) I FOUND MYSELF TOO DISTR LOOKING FOR TFC IN THE AIR AND ON THE RWY THAT I FORGOT TO QUERY ATC FOR A FREQ CHANGE. MUST TRY TO BE MORE VIGILANT.
