Narrative:

In the process of building N2 rack yyz east/south, I installed the improper ninth stage compressor disc off of rack zxx. Somehow the 2 discs were swapped from one rack to another before build-up. Somehow I failed to notice the improper part number and serial number before I installed it. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the error was caught at engine change in the overhaul dock so the engine never got out on the line. The reporter said the reworked disc was placed on a rack adjacent to the compressor build-up area but not in the correct rack for this engine. The reporter said new procedures have been started which add new markings to the disc and all paperwork stays with the disc.
