Narrative:
In a C152, I taxied onto runway 6 at new smyrna. A tomahawk was on low glide final. He flew over top us and went to a go around. Neither I nor my student heard any radio call. We taxied back for takeoff and the same event recurred. I had visually scanned and heard no call. I write to say that I believe there was a problem with a stuck microphone or bad transmitter. I also believe that the circling to final and low glide path caused us to fail to see the tomahawk. I will now call and ask for traffic on final to make themselves known before takeoff.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLT INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT IN A C152 AT EVB ARPT TAXIED ON TXWY FOR TKOF AND HAD A TOMAHAWK ACFT MAKE A GAR OVER THEM. THEY APPARENTLY TAXIED OFF THE RWY, CHKED THE PATTERN, THEN TAXIED ON THE RWY AGAIN FOR TKOF AND HAD THE SAME EVENT OCCUR. INSTRUCTOR BELIEVES THAT A BAD XMITTER OR A STUCK MIKE CAUSED THE PROB.
