Narrative:

Upon landing on runway 31 taxied to gate. Turned into the alley for gate ab instead of gate back course. Shut down engines and informed ramp and maintenance. Lga maintenance towed aircraft to gate back course and arrived 3 mins ahead of schedule. As first officer, I should have been helping captain with taxi navigation. I was in the middle of running the after landing/taxi checklist.
