Narrative:
On sep/xe/98 at XA48Z, I briefed a pilot of aircraft #1, VFR, from dca to blm (belmar, nj). At the end of the briefing, the pilot requested any class ii NOTAMS pertaining to blm. I looked up the new jersey class ii NOTAMS and informed the pilot that there were no class ii's published at this time. A few mins later, after this brief, a pilot at the walk-in counter informed me that the class ii NOTAM book at the counter was out of date, dated obsolete sep/xa/98, 5 days earlier! Upon checking around with the supervisor, we found that all class ii books were obsolete. The one book I used to advise aircraft #1 was obsolete as of aug/xb/98. Unfortunately the pilot did not get the correct information for blm. Upon further checking the supervisor found more obsolete class ii's in the store room but no current class ii's were evident anywhere.

Title: A PLT ALERTS AN FSS CTLR THAT THE PLT BRIEFING HE JUST GAVE TO ANOTHER PLT WAS NOT CORRECT. THE FSS CTLR WAS BRIEFING UTILIZING OUT OF DATE CLASS II NOTAM MATERIAL. THE FSS CTLR ALERTED HIS SUPVR WHO, WHEN INVESTIGATING, FOUND OTHER OUT OF DATE BRIEFING MATERIAL.
Narrative: ON SEP/XE/98 AT XA48Z, I BRIEFED A PLT OF ACFT #1, VFR, FROM DCA TO BLM (BELMAR, NJ). AT THE END OF THE BRIEFING, THE PLT REQUESTED ANY CLASS II NOTAMS PERTAINING TO BLM. I LOOKED UP THE NEW JERSEY CLASS II NOTAMS AND INFORMED THE PLT THAT THERE WERE NO CLASS II'S PUBLISHED AT THIS TIME. A FEW MINS LATER, AFTER THIS BRIEF, A PLT AT THE WALK-IN COUNTER INFORMED ME THAT THE CLASS II NOTAM BOOK AT THE COUNTER WAS OUT OF DATE, DATED OBSOLETE SEP/XA/98, 5 DAYS EARLIER! UPON CHKING AROUND WITH THE SUPVR, WE FOUND THAT ALL CLASS II BOOKS WERE OBSOLETE. THE ONE BOOK I USED TO ADVISE ACFT #1 WAS OBSOLETE AS OF AUG/XB/98. UNFORTUNATELY THE PLT DID NOT GET THE CORRECT INFO FOR BLM. UPON FURTHER CHKING THE SUPVR FOUND MORE OBSOLETE CLASS II'S IN THE STORE ROOM BUT NO CURRENT CLASS II'S WERE EVIDENT ANYWHERE.
