Narrative:

We were issued VFR traffic at 14500 ft (or 16500 ft). We acknowledged traffic. We were then given a frequency change. During this time we made a turn on the arrival. It was hard - - I realized that we were on what appeared to be a collision course with the traffic. I was the PF and took evasive action. We missed the twin engine aircraft by just a few hundred ft it seemed. We were descending at the time.
