Narrative:
On final to runway 17C dfw, localizer track captured, cleared for approach by tower. TCASII TA, then RA 'descend, descend.' took action, followed flight director instructions. Copilot saw field and went visual. Captain kept aircraft in sight at all times until right before landing. Other aircraft was intercepting runway 17L and seemed to overshoot the localizer from the base leg.

Title: AN MD88 APCHING RWY 17C HAS AN NMAC WITH A COMMUTER ACFT WHEN THE COMMUTER ACFT OVERSHOT ITS TURN ONTO FINAL, ENCROACHING UPON THE FLT PATH OF THE MD88 AT DFW, TX.
Narrative: ON FINAL TO RWY 17C DFW, LOC TRACK CAPTURED, CLRED FOR APCH BY TWR. TCASII TA, THEN RA 'DSND, DSND.' TOOK ACTION, FOLLOWED FLT DIRECTOR INSTRUCTIONS. COPLT SAW FIELD AND WENT VISUAL. CAPT KEPT ACFT IN SIGHT AT ALL TIMES UNTIL RIGHT BEFORE LNDG. OTHER ACFT WAS INTERCEPTING RWY 17L AND SEEMED TO OVERSHOOT THE LOC FROM THE BASE LEG.
