Narrative:
Departed runway 8R at phx, cleared push 1 departure, cie transition. Shortly after crossing phx VOR (8 NM) began published turn to heading of 190 degrees. Should have begun turn at 4 NM east of VOR. Departure controller informed me of error. I corrected and thanked him for bringing it to our attention. No known traffic conflict.

Title: FO OF A CESSNA CITATION C525 TURNED TOO EARLY DURING A SID DEP RESULTING IN ATC INTERVENTION TO REMIND THE FLC OF THE ACTUAL FIX FOR THE TURN. THE FO CORRECTED BACK AT ONCE WITH NO KNOWN CONFLICT.
Narrative: DEPARTED RWY 8R AT PHX, CLRED PUSH 1 DEP, CIE TRANSITION. SHORTLY AFTER XING PHX VOR (8 NM) BEGAN PUBLISHED TURN TO HDG OF 190 DEGS. SHOULD HAVE BEGUN TURN AT 4 NM E OF VOR. DEP CTLR INFORMED ME OF ERROR. I CORRECTED AND THANKED HIM FOR BRINGING IT TO OUR ATTN. NO KNOWN TFC CONFLICT.
