Narrative:

We were assigned to climb to FL270. We advised that we had problems with pressurization system. During climb, I was writing down information on what the pressurization system was doing. I missed the altitude alerter signal and climbed through FL270. At FL280 ZME asked what our assigned altitude was. We replied, 'FL270.' he then cleared us to FL290. We continued the climb and nothing else was said. Cause of problem was my preoccupation of pressurization system and not the aircraft. I should have had the other crew member fly while I gathered information.

Narrative: WE WERE ASSIGNED TO CLB TO FL270. WE ADVISED THAT WE HAD PROBS WITH PRESSURIZATION SYS. DURING CLB, I WAS WRITING DOWN INFO ON WHAT THE PRESSURIZATION SYS WAS DOING. I MISSED THE ALT ALERTER SIGNAL AND CLBED THROUGH FL270. AT FL280 ZME ASKED WHAT OUR ASSIGNED ALT WAS. WE REPLIED, 'FL270.' HE THEN CLRED US TO FL290. WE CONTINUED THE CLB AND NOTHING ELSE WAS SAID. CAUSE OF PROB WAS MY PREOCCUPATION OF PRESSURIZATION SYS AND NOT THE ACFT. I SHOULD HAVE HAD THE OTHER CREW MEMBER FLY WHILE I GATHERED INFO.
