Narrative:
Airport operations were once again a mess this night. I counted at least 6 aircraft waiting for gates, all adding to ramp congestion during a rush hour, we were cleared without restr to gate after waiting 35 mins for it to open up. As we were taxiing sbound on taxiway a, there was a DC10 pushed back onto taxiway B on our left. Ahead was a saab 340 showing only navigation lights (extremely hard to depth perceive at night). On our right, runway 30L was active. As we came abeam intersection A6, I became aware of a B727 which had just landed. He was trying to exit runway 30L at taxiway A6, but by the time I saw him, we were already blocking his exit. His inability to clear the runway caused a DC10 to abort its takeoff on runway 30L. Contributing factors: 1) no heads up warning from ground control reference B727. 2) congested ramp. 3) darkness. 4) poorly lit saab 340. 5) volume of traffic. 6) takeoff clearance given to DC10 before B727 had cleared runway.

Title: LNDG B727, UNABLE TO EXIT RWY DUE TO B757 TFC ON RAMP AT EXIT, CAUSES DC10 TO ABORT TKOF.
Narrative: ARPT OPS WERE ONCE AGAIN A MESS THIS NIGHT. I COUNTED AT LEAST 6 ACFT WAITING FOR GATES, ALL ADDING TO RAMP CONGESTION DURING A RUSH HR, WE WERE CLRED WITHOUT RESTR TO GATE AFTER WAITING 35 MINS FOR IT TO OPEN UP. AS WE WERE TAXIING SBOUND ON TXWY A, THERE WAS A DC10 PUSHED BACK ONTO TXWY B ON OUR L. AHEAD WAS A SAAB 340 SHOWING ONLY NAV LIGHTS (EXTREMELY HARD TO DEPTH PERCEIVE AT NIGHT). ON OUR R, RWY 30L WAS ACTIVE. AS WE CAME ABEAM INTXN A6, I BECAME AWARE OF A B727 WHICH HAD JUST LANDED. HE WAS TRYING TO EXIT RWY 30L AT TXWY A6, BUT BY THE TIME I SAW HIM, WE WERE ALREADY BLOCKING HIS EXIT. HIS INABILITY TO CLR THE RWY CAUSED A DC10 TO ABORT ITS TKOF ON RWY 30L. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: 1) NO HEADS UP WARNING FROM GND CTL REF B727. 2) CONGESTED RAMP. 3) DARKNESS. 4) POORLY LIT SAAB 340. 5) VOLUME OF TFC. 6) TKOF CLRNC GIVEN TO DC10 BEFORE B727 HAD CLRED RWY.
