Narrative:
Cleared williamsport 1 arrival (fqm.FQM1) to ewr. Cleared to descend to FL290, expect FL180 at hayed. Captain flying. Apparently center cleared us to cross hayed at FL180. I did not hear this clearance and did not put FL180 in MCP altitude window. Approximately 15 mi from hayed, first officer asked if we could make it to FL180 at hayed. Next, after starting descent, first officer informed center that we would be unable to be at FL180 by hayed. ATC now cleared us to cross hayed at or below FL260 to maintain FL180.
