Narrative:
IFR flight from bzn to den. Taxi out, called on radio, taxi to runway 12 then went to center, picked up IFR. Returned to CTAF holding short of runway. Called departing runway 12, and started to taxi. We cleared for traffic and observed 2 airplanes and 1 glider in sight as we approached the center stripe. Saw an airplane turning a dogleg final. Made radio call. Airplane had already leveled off and appeared to execute a go around after he flew over us about 300 ft. Then it started a descent again, and did a touch-and-go 1/2 way down runway. Never made a call and was white, which blended into backgnd. After he moved to the crosswind, we took off uneventfully to den. He never made a radio call that we heard and he blended into backgnd. While we were waiting for clearance, I had about 2 mins of keeping track of traffic while holding short of runway 12. Never heard or saw him, but I had the other 3 airplanes in sight. Once we saw him, there was no chance to taxi clear of runway. He had flown a very close in dogleg to the runway.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF AN ACR DORNIER DO328 PULLED OUT ONTO AN UNCTLED ARPT RWY AND HELD IN POS FOR TKOF WHEN A PIPER PA38 TOMAHAWK APCH TO LAND. THE TOMAHAWK LEVELED OFF AND OVERFLEW THE DO328, WHO WAS SITTING ON THE RWY, AND THEN DID A TOUCH-AND-GO LNDG FURTHER DOWN THE RWY IN FRONT OF THE RPTR. THE RPTR, WHO HAD MADE CTAF CALLS OF HIS INTENTIONS, DID NOT HEAR THE TOMAHAWK PLT MAKE ANY.
Narrative: IFR FLT FROM BZN TO DEN. TAXI OUT, CALLED ON RADIO, TAXI TO RWY 12 THEN WENT TO CTR, PICKED UP IFR. RETURNED TO CTAF HOLDING SHORT OF RWY. CALLED DEPARTING RWY 12, AND STARTED TO TAXI. WE CLRED FOR TFC AND OBSERVED 2 AIRPLANES AND 1 GLIDER IN SIGHT AS WE APCHED THE CTR STRIPE. SAW AN AIRPLANE TURNING A DOGLEG FINAL. MADE RADIO CALL. AIRPLANE HAD ALREADY LEVELED OFF AND APPEARED TO EXECUTE A GAR AFTER HE FLEW OVER US ABOUT 300 FT. THEN IT STARTED A DSCNT AGAIN, AND DID A TOUCH-AND-GO 1/2 WAY DOWN RWY. NEVER MADE A CALL AND WAS WHITE, WHICH BLENDED INTO BACKGND. AFTER HE MOVED TO THE XWIND, WE TOOK OFF UNEVENTFULLY TO DEN. HE NEVER MADE A RADIO CALL THAT WE HEARD AND HE BLENDED INTO BACKGND. WHILE WE WERE WAITING FOR CLRNC, I HAD ABOUT 2 MINS OF KEEPING TRACK OF TFC WHILE HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 12. NEVER HEARD OR SAW HIM, BUT I HAD THE OTHER 3 AIRPLANES IN SIGHT. ONCE WE SAW HIM, THERE WAS NO CHANCE TO TAXI CLR OF RWY. HE HAD FLOWN A VERY CLOSE IN DOGLEG TO THE RWY.
